| The Association of Medical Aromatherapists Just as the Scottish College of Complementary Medicine was the first college to offer training courses in holistic therapies in Scotland, the Association of Medical Aromatherapists was the first Scottish professional holistic therapy association to come into being. The Association, or the AMA as it is usually known, offers a range of services to both graduates of the Scottish College of Complementary Medicine and to graduates from other properly constituted training courses. Initially the Association was set up to represent aromatherapists with nursing, midwifery or medical qualifications, working with clinical aromatherapy, either within the NHS or in private practice. Over a period of time, as more and more well qualified practitioners without nursing, midwifery or medical backgrounds applied to join the Association, we expanded the parameters of the Association to include many of these practitioners, untill today the Association represents practitioners from many diverse therapeutic backgrounds. |
The Scottish Aromatherapy Register The Scottish Aromatherapy Register which is run by the Association of Medical Aromatherapists, has two main functions, to let the patient/client know that when they go for treatment to a therapist who is on the Scottish Aromatherapy Register, they are being treated by an excellent practitioner who is a highly trained aromatherapy professional and to give the practitioner the confidence that being a member of a well known and respected professional association brings. |
